How Cannabis Vending Machines Work
Many people wonder how cannabis vending machines work.
First of all, it must be said that the vending machine has now become an indispensable tool for many businesses. It is no longer just a means to provide coffee, snacks, or drinks in waiting rooms, companies, schools, or universities, but now represents a truly effective and intelligent sales tool that many commercial activities are introducing into their premises to increasingly boost their revenues. This market trend continues to grow; in fact, over the last 40 years, the growth trend for this sector has been constantly upward.
It is easy to notice that today it is increasingly common to find vending machines that offer, in addition to drinks, snacks, cigarettes, etc., also the most varied products—as we have already discussed in a previous article—including products derived from hemp. These machines, which at first glance might seem simple, are becoming faster and more intuitive over the years to ensure their proper functioning and immediate use accessible to everyone.
But what processes are triggered as soon as we select the product and insert money or a credit card? Below, we’ll explain how our Harvin Hemp vending machines work.
How Harvin Cannabis Vending Machines Work:
1) Enter an identity document:
Products derived from Cannabis can be purchased by law exclusively by adults; therefore, the preliminary step to use a vending machine and make purchases is to allow the vending machine to read a valid identity document. In Italy, the health card is mainly used – which has a chip capable of communicating the buyer’s age to the machine, and no other personal data – while in other countries, identity cards or driver’s licenses are also used.
2) Payment methods:
Once the vending machine has verified the age, the vending machine is enabled for sales, and it is then possible to proceed with the purchase. Nowadays, almost all vending machines are equipped with bill and coin readers for various denominations, and the more technological ones are now also provided with credit card readers—like our Harvin ones—and equipped with contactless technology.
3) Dispensing
Once payment is made with the preferred method, the vending machine dispenses the product through various methods:
– Dispensing via pusher motors:
In this case—as in the Magic Baby and Magic Baby Touch, for example—the products are divided inside the machine into columns and stacked one on top of the other. Each column is equipped with a motor that, once a customer has selected the product they want to purchase, dispenses the selected product forward by sliding it and bringing it to the pickup compartment.
– Dispensing via spirals:
This is a more common dispensing method for snack and beverage vending machines, such as our Master Revolution. Typically, the inserted products take up more space and are placed inside spirals that dispense and drop the product into the pickup compartment through a forward rotation.[alibaba]
– Dispensing via internal elevator:
This is also a dispensing method typical for snack and beverage vending machines, such as our Master Lift Plus: products are always dispensed via the rotation of the spiral system, but in this case, the products are not simply dropped but are accompanied by a small internal elevator to avoid abrupt falls and gently guide the product to the pickup compartment. This is the best method for dispensing delicate products and those in easily breakable materials like glass.[fas]
This is a very advanced technology that only a few innovative companies, including Harvin, have adopted to provide their customers with a unique and inimitable sales experience.[fas]
4) Change Dispensing
Harvin vending machines can select the various coin denominations they receive and, if needed, dispense the correct change.
But what happens if the vending machine runs out of change?
As you will see in the next point, this is absolutely not a problem for Harvin!
5) Thermal printer for change receipt:
Harvin vending machines, when the required coin denominations for change are depleted, can provide a reimbursement receipt thanks to the advanced technology of our panel thermal printers. The machine will dispense a ticket stating the total amount not dispensed, and the customer can go to the store during opening hours or contact the seller to request the change they are owed.
What other aspects should be considered regarding how Harvin Cannabis vending machines work, especially for retailers and not just for customers who purchase the product from the machine?
- Easy operation and in-company training:
Harvin’s highly technological vending machines are easy to use, and routine maintenance—such as cleaning the internal and external components, refilling money, and restocking finished products—is extremely intuitive. Our engineers have designed a technology accessible to anyone, without creating hitches or unnecessary complications during use by both retailers and their customers.
Harvin’s staff provides 360° assistance both before and after the sale for any needs, and upon purchase, you’ll receive a full training day at our company headquarters where you’ll learn everything needed to operate your vending machine. At the end of the training, you’ll get a concise, easy-to-use manual summarizing all you’ve been taught.[harvin]
- App Hcorr for Accounting Management
To help our customers manage their vending machine independently and simply, Harvin has developed the Hcorr app for accounting management, which allows you to effectively and systematically monitor vending machine earnings and transmit receipts to the Italian Revenue Agency.
